P&O Cruises ship Aurora is one of six owned and run by the company. Aurora Cruises like all the P&O Cruises are of a more traditional style of cruise. Unlike Arcadia and Artemis, she is not a child free ship and Aurora is suitable for families, couples and single passengers, many of whom return often more than once a year. Aurora is rated four stars by Berlitz, the definitive guide to cruising.
Initially costing $375m, Aurora was built specifically for P&O Cruises and the first Aurora Cruises were in May 2000.
At 76,152 tons, she can be considered medium to large sized ship by modern standards. Her naming ceremony was performed by HRH The Princess Royal (Princess Anne).
Typically Aurora Cruises have up to 1,870 passengers in 939 cabins, the cabins sizes range from 150 square feet up to the 953 square foot top of the range suites. She has a total of 10 decks and is 886 feet long.
News, P&O Cruises have announced a change to their smoking policy and each ship will have one dedicated internal public space for smoking.
They will still allow smokin in cabins and balconies on Arcadia , Artemis, Aurora and Oriana, while smoking is not permitted in any cabins onboard Oceana or Ventura, but is allowed on the balconies.
